Orchard Adventures: Camping Weekend at Trericket Mill with Kids Walkie Talkies

Venturing to Trericket Mill in Wales proved to be a delightful escapade for me and a lively troop of teenage adventurers, including my daughter and her friends. Nestled amidst the tranquil surroundings of the old mill house, we discovered a charming bunkhouse and a cozy camping area tucked away in the lush orchard. The ambiance was enchanting, with ducks and hens leisurely pecking beneath the shade of the trees, and a rustic metal drum serving as a centerpiece for campfires.

One of the highlights of our stay was the outdoor sheltered kitchen adjacent to the bunkhouse, where we relished the simple pleasures of frying up crispy bacon and sizzling eggs amidst the fresh Welsh air. The backdrop of a fast-flowing mill stream added to the idyllic atmosphere, while upstream, icy pools beckoned with promises of refreshing dips, much to the girls' delight and squeals of excitement.

As someone who's not particularly fond of roughing it in the great outdoors, Trericket Mill offered the perfect compromise. While the girls reveled in their adventures, setting up their pop-up tents amidst the fragrant apple trees, I indulged in the comfort of a cozy B&B room within the Mill House—a harmonious blend of camping and comfort that exceeded my expectations.

In hindsight, I can't help but imagine how much more enjoyable our camping weekend would have been with the addition of kids walkie talkies to our gear. These handy devices would have not only facilitated communication and coordination among the girls as they explored the orchard and beyond but also added an extra layer of excitement to their outdoor escapades.

Trericket Mill epitomizes my ideal camping retreat—a serene haven where nature's beauty intertwines with creature comforts, creating unforgettable memories for adventurers of all ages.
